Small thinking is not only something that can be inside of us as women in ministry, but it can also be in our faith communities and the leadership of the congregation. Knowing your own values and helping the congregation specify their values starts to break through small thinking. Some of those values come from the past. When we don’t know and own the stories from the past we loose the values associated with those stories The values we hold individually and as congregations determine our WHY, why we do what we do, why the congregation exists in this time and place. What do you need to move forward from? What community values do you want/need to build? Your values also come from your story. Your personal story is very important to tell It has 3 parts: The beginning – when this happened & who is involved The middle – the problem or pain point in your life or the life of the congregation The end – this includes at least 3 quantifiable wins (specific & measurable wins)
